We offer them in two beautiful ways: in their authentic traditional form, and with light, creative touches to fit today’s style.

At This is it Artistry, we’re reimagining how African heritage can live in our everyday lives.
We source handwoven viondos—traditional Kenyan bags rich in meaning and history—and offer them in two forms: some are left as they are, just as the artisans intended; others are gently modernized with simple additions for a refreshed look. Each piece is handpicked with love, not mass-produced.
Our mission is to celebrate the hands that make, the stories they carry, and the people who proudly wear them.
We’re a small, family-led brand currently working with talented women in our community—including our own mum and aunties—who will soon be bringing in crochet and macramé designs as part of our evolving journey.
Whether classic or reimagined, every bag is a quiet celebration of heritage and artistry.
Our Story
We started This is it Artistry with a simple question:
How can we carry our culture forward—literally and beautifully?
What began as a dream to work with macramé quickly became something bigger. We couldn’t find the materials we needed, but we realized we already had something powerful in our hands: the Kenyan kiondo. A heritage piece. A bag our mothers and grandmothers carried with pride.
So we began there; with the intention to honour what already exists. Some viondos are beautiful just as they are. Others, we add a gentle touch: maybe a new handle, a dash of colour, a softer lining.
This brand is more than bags. It’s about slow fashion, legacy, and supporting the local women whose art we wear every day.
We’re not in a rush. We’re building with care.
